Future outbreaks

Future outbreaks of genital herpes are usually less severe than the first. This is because your body produces antibodies during the first outbreak which will help fight outbreaks in the future.

While future outbreaks of genital herpes may not be as severe as the first outbreak, they can still be painful and disruptive to your life. The risk of passing it on to your partner will also remain high. For this reason it is important to speak to your doctor about genital herpes treatment options that suit your needs. It is also important to work out the lifestyle habits that trigger your outbreaks (for example stress or lack of sleep) so that you can avoid these in future.
